OBC Committee

Introduction:

The main goal of the OBC Cell’s establishment at the college was to empower the OBC students there. Cell is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere that values individuals of all races, religions, and cultural backgrounds. It also pledges to safeguard individuals and to act in accordance with Indian constitutional laws in these matters. The Cell was established to assist students from these communities in achieving holistic development and integrating into the mainstream.

Objectives of OBC Cell:

  • To empowering and educating the college’s OBC employees and students to utilize the resources of both federal and state government programs.
  • To ensure that the state and federal reservation policies are effectively implemented in the college by putting them into practice, monitoring them closely, and conducting ongoing evaluations.
  • To make sure OBC students have equitable access to education;
  • To make it easier for governments and other sources to provide financial aid to students from these groups.
  • To inform OBC students about the several scholarship programs offered by the Maharashtra and federal governments.
  • Gathering data and reports from the Maharashtra government and UGC on several topics related to education and employment of OBC students
  • To provide information about the various Central and State Government scholarship programs as well as any developments in these areas.

Functions and Activities of OBC Cell:

  • Disseminating the directives and other circulars issued by the University, the Government of India, and the University Grant Commission; gathering, on a yearly basis, information about the course-by-course admission of candidates from Other Backward Classes to the University in the prescribed form by the deadline; and taking appropriate follow-up action as needed.
  • To disseminate, by a predetermined date, the directives and other circulars from the Indian government as well as the decisions made by the University Grants Commission on the appointment and promotion of individuals to teaching and non-teaching positions within the university in appropriate formats, and to take appropriate follow-up action as needed.
  • Gathering data, directives, and reports from the UGC and the Indian government regarding the different facets of hiring, training, and educating people from other backward classes in order to develop new rules or amend current ones.
  • To analyses the data that has been gathered and create reports and digests that may be sent to the University Grant Commission, the Indian government, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, and any other authorities that might be needed.
  • To work through the institution to coordinate with the UGC, the State and Central governments, and other relevant

Organizations to obtain scholarships, grants, and other financial aid for OBC students.

  • To address concerns raised by candidates from Other Backward Classes (OBC) about admission, scholarships, hiring, promotion, and other related issues at the university.
  • To keep an OBC candidate database up to date.
  • Any other tasks that the university assigns from time to time to encourage OBC employees and students to pursue higher education.
  • All tasks pertaining to OBC shall be handled solely by the OBC Cell.
  • To make sure that conditions are set up so that all of these students feel comfortable and protected.
  • To keep an eye on how the University’s remedial coaching program for OBC students is operating.

Minority Committee

Introduction:

The Minority cell of the College is formed with the purpose of empowering the minority communities in the College. The Minority Cell basically helps minority students, including Christian, Muslim,jain,Sikhs, Buddhists,and Zorastrians (Parsis). It ensures the protection of minorities and acts as per the provisions of the Constitution of India in such matters. This also helps them to enroll for career orientation programmes which would empower and equip them with the necessary skills for various career options.

Objective:

  1. To enhance equal opportunities for education of minorities.
  2. To facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources.
  3. To aware the minority students regarding various scholarships program of State Government and UGC.
  4. To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  5. To encourage enroll for career orientation programs.
  6. To provide prompt counseling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event at the campus.
  7. To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.

 

Functions and Responsibility:

  1. To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning. The Cell is committed to provide assistance to the minority students through counseling, personality development, development of communication skill and preparatory classes for professional and employment purposes etc
  2. To conduct the programme for disseminating the scholarship schemes provided by governmental agencies and other sources.
  3. To function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of minority students to render them necessary help in solving academic as well as administrative problems.
  4. To organize periodic meetings to monitor the progress of different schemes.
  5. facilitate access to scholarships and financial assistance for minority students to promote education within the community.
  6. Various NGO’s also give the scholarship to the minority students.
  7. Through National Scholarship Portal(NSP) minority student get scholarship.
